01 — Purpose

Why we run it

The series exposes students to career opportunities across healthcare, life sciences and related industries through Texas A&M alumni. You should leave with a clearer view of career paths, the educational requirements behind them and what the day-to-day actually looks like — plus connections to mentors and employers.

Expect somewhere between 50 and 100 students. The series runs once in the fall and up to twice in the spring.

02 — The panel

Who you'll hear from

Three to seven professionals representing different career pathways, deliberately mixing clinical, industry, research and public service perspectives. Alumni and local professionals wherever possible.

This term's theme — Medicine & Healthcare

Physicians, clinical psychologists, biotechnology, research labs, life science consulting, public health, and registered behavior technicians.

03 — Run of show

How the hour runs

  • 5 min Welcome from the SCAS executive board and introduction of the moderator
  • 5 min Introduction from the College of Arts & Sciences on career exploration and professional development
  • 35 min Moderated panel — career journeys, educational pathways, day-to-day responsibilities, industry trends, and advice on internships and networking
  • 15 min Audience Q&A, mixing live and pre-submitted questions
  • 30 min Networking with refreshments; speakers stay around the room rather than at the panel table

04 — Attending

Before you come

RSVP through the Google Form. Registration stays open until the room reaches capacity, and the event is free for everyone.

You can submit a question for the panellists in advance when you register — those get mixed into the Q&A alongside live questions.
